censhare Web uses tabs to group and display the information and actions on asset and application pages. Based on the application or asset type, the tabs on the page may vary. You can customize which tabs display on the page to suit your needs.

Structure of an asset page: The title of an asset page consists of the asset type icon (1), the name of the asset (2) and the asset type (3). A page is divided into various tabs (5), one of which is active (6). The "Asset menu" button (4) is on the right. Tabs show content and details of an asset in widgets (7).

Introduction

Page types and their tabs

There are three basic page types in censhare Web:

  • application pages
  • asset pages
  • search result pages.

On asset pages and application pages, various information and actions are grouped on tabs.

All pages in censhare Web have a title bar. The title bar shows an icon that represents the application or asset type and the name of the selected application or asset. The title bar on asset pages also shows the name of the asset type. A menu of page actions and a control to show or hide the side and top navigation are located below the title bar on the right side of each page.

The tabs that are available for the selected page appear below the title. The name of the active tab is highlighted or shown in boldface. To switch to a different tab, click the name of the tab.

  • The tabs on asset pages group and display information and actions that are available for a specific asset in censhare Web. For example, the "Media" tab of an Article asset. The information and actions available on the tab are displayed in widgets.

  • The tabs on application pages group and display the information and actions that are not limited to a specific asset. For example, the "Overview" tab of the censhare Web "Dashboard" page. Application pages give you an overview of important assets, tasks, and statuses on your system. You can configure, add, and remove the widgets that censhare Web includes on the tabs of an application page to suit your individual needs.

Tab management

The tabs on different pages have different functions. Some tabs show details of the asset. For example, the "Assignments" widget on the "Details" tab of an "Article" asset page lists all assets that are assigned to the article. Other tabs show actions that are available in your system. For example, the "Quick access" widget on the "Overview" tab of the "Dashboard" application page provides links to frequently used resources. You can customize the tabs that appear on a page to suit your needs with the ‘Manage tabs’ page action.

To open the "Manage tabs" dialog, click "Manage tabs" in the page actions menu of the page you want to customize. The Manage tabs dialog lists all of the tabs that are visible on the page currently.

When you rename one of the default system tabs, your change affects the tabs in your user account in two ways:

  • The new name replaces all language variants of the tab name. For example, your language preference for the UI is "English" and you rename the "Overview" tab on your "Dashboard" to "My overview". If you change your UI language preference to "German", the label of the tab remains "My overview".

  • The new name replaces the tab name on all asset pages of the same asset type on your user account. For example, if you rename the “Overview” tab of an “Image” asset to “My overview”, you change the tab name for all Image assets on your account in all languages.

To restore the default names of the tabs on the page in all languages, reset the workspace area of the page. In the page actions menu of the desired page, click "Reset page". After a confirmation request, censhare removes all individual changes that were made on the selected page and restores all default page settings. This action removes custom tabs and restores the default tabs and tab names on all assets of the same type in your account.

Remove tabs

In the Manage tabs window, select the tab that you want to remove. Click the trash can icon next to the desired dialog. censhare Web removes the input field from the Manage tabs window. To save your changes and remove the tab from the page, click OK. To cancel the action, click CANCEL.
