The censhare Client allows you to display a native preview for PDF files.

Introduction

The preview is created using the PDF plugin of the local web browser. If Adobe Reader is used, most of its functionality is available from within censhare as an embedded web browser. The available features depend on the used plugin. The PDF preview window can also be used to zoom into hi-resolution PDF data. The quality is always the same with the native PDF application on the local machine.

Example

With thePreview window you can view all PDF files without having to export them beforehand, for example, PDF files of a layout. Therefore making it possible to get a high-resolution preview of the pages. By zooming-in, errors with fonts and vector graphics can be detected and details can be viewed.

Another use is a detailed view of PDF assets (images). In contrast to the standard preview,  text PDF can be zoomed very far into the document. It is also possible to print or e-mail directly from this censhare window when using the Adobe Reader plugin.

Configuration

The function is called from the "Window" menu.

The only requirement is that a PDF plugin is installed for the local browser, which is a necessary prerequisite for Windows and usually done during the installation of Adobe Reader. For Safari, there is a choice between the built-in WebKit-PDF component or Adobe Reader.

If Acrobat is installed, it is typically used as your browser plugin.
