Online channel targeting allows the editor to specify when a certain online page layout should apply or when a certain widget shall be displayed. The targeting rules for online page layouts can be configured using the online channel page layout widget. Targeting rules of online widgets are part of the online widget configuration dialogs.
Targeting rules
The targeting rules consist of “display when” and “don’t display when” sections. The layout or widget is only displayed when all conditions in the “display when” section are fulfilled and none of the “don’t display when” are are fulfilled. If a feature appears multiple times in the “display when” section only one entry has to match.
Configuration
Currently there are neither configuration options nor extension points. The set of features from which the targeting rules might be build is consists of all of the properties of the trait oc_targeting. If you add properties to this trait these properties will show up but could not be handled properly by the online channel.
Online widget configuration dialogs
Since the targeting rules of online widgets are part of the online widget configuration dialogs an recent enough version of the online widget configuration dialog assets are required to edit the rules for online widgets.
